Oh My Heck could someone please turn the snow maker off. We have had a very mild winter season thus far, and I have enjoyed it. But the last two days have brought us 6-8 inches of snow, and I am so tired of shoveling. The one good thing about all of this, is that Jaxon got to play in the snow for the first time today. Bradly hates the snow. Duh, why do we live in Utah then. So he bundled Jaxon up and brought him out to me, so we could take some pictures at least. Pam, "Please hurry it is so cold and snowy out here. I can't handle it, I want to go back in the warm house." One guess who said that. So here are the pictures of our little adventure. Bradly took Jaxon's hat off and dropped him in the snow, at that point I said okay enough take him inside you big baby. Abby and I played out in the snow for a while. There were snow angels and running through the snow. Snowballs and eating the snow. I know yuck. All the pollution and stuff in the air. I have told her a million times don't eat the snow, but I think that is just part of being a kid. I mean come on I grew up in Virginia and Michigan. I am sure I ate some snow in my time, and I turned out alright. After a couple hours of shoveling and playing I had to go in I was freezing. It is still snowing. Will it ever stop I really don't know.

CHRISTMAS 2009

It has been a great day here in the Wiscombe household. We celebrated the birth of the little baby Jesus last night by reading the story of his birth. Then today awoke to presents under the tree delivered by Santa. We must have been good this year. Abby was so excited that she had recovered from the naughty list and made the nice list just in time. She worked really hard yesterday for all the mean things she has done. The problem is she hasn't been really all that bad, but she picks on her brother alot. But for all of us that have siblings that is just something that happens. You can try and control it, but you can't. I don't live in a dream land so I know it is going to happen. She just needs to be a bit nicer to him, and understand he is a baby and can't really stick up for himself at all. The house is ever filled with Christmas yummies. We made the traditional Rocky Road, Fudge, Peanut Bloosoms, and Rice Krispy Treats. We shared with our neighbors and family, and wish that you all were close enough that we could have shared them with you. We put the Christmas tree up November 1st, and today it went back in the box. I love this time of year. The lights, the music, the memories, the tree, and the joy on the faces of children. We have been lucky enough to have many great memories of the past, and are currently building Christmas memories for our children. We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and hope that this Christmas has been great for all of you. That you have been able to share time with family and friends. We hope and pray for all those on missions for the church and those serving in the military. That they know they are loved, and that we hope they had a great day. We wish all of you a wonderful New Year, and hope that all your dreams comes true. We hope that peace and hope will surround us, and enable us a 2010 full of good things.

Christmas Photos Take 2 and Thoughts

Today was the second time that we tried family pictures. My hat goes off to families with tons of little kids. I don't know how you do it. I have only two and it is really hard to get them both in good moods, and smiling and looking at the camera. I will post some pictures of just Abby herself, the two kids together, mom and the kids, dad and the kids, and then we took a few family pictures. We hope that you enjoy them as much as we do. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy and Healthy New Year. Our little Abby will be 4 in April and Jaxon is a few days away from 6 months. This year has gone by quickly for us. It has been fun to see Abby getting ready for Santa Clause to come this year. She is diffently learning more about being naughty and nice, and the list. Every night before bed she asks which list she is on. We are trying to teach kindness and service to her, instead of the I wants. It has been tough, but I think we are getting better at it. She sat down the other day, and tried to explain to Jaxon about being naughty and nice, and about her friend Santa. She told him if he didn't sleep better at night and stop waking her up, he was going to stay on the naughty list. She also told him he had to stop barfing on everyone. This is the Christmas I enjoy. Seeing the happiness in your childrens eyes, making yummy treats and spoiling neighbors, and reading the story of Jesus birth. Too bad more of you aren't closer, because there are many we would like to spoil and share this time of year with. We have been talking about Jesus more, and how he is with us everywhere. Abby is so cute, she looks up at the mountain by our house and tells us every Sunday that she can see Jesus up there. I just look at her innocence and say, "Yes honey he is up there." She is such an emotional little girl. We have had to be careful of what we say around her pertaining to death and heaven. She wanted to know where Grandpa Long is, and I of course didn't want to lie so I told her he is in heaven. That was a mistake I guess. For such a young girl, she fears death and worries about it everytime she sees a soldier on television, or hears someone mention death. Why is it that these innocent little kids have to learn at such a young age about death and violence. I have tried to shield her as much as I can, but have failed. The other day she told me she was afraid to die and go to heaven, because she would miss her friends so so so much. She loves our neighbors the Mortenson's. Everyday she watches for Jayson (the dad) to come home from work so she can open the door and pop out her head and tell him "Hi." Her best friends other than the Kelson family, and Moroni are Donovan and KaLeah and Shana (the mom). We have been really blessed having such great normal neighbors for once. Everytime we move we fear what we are going to get, but this time we lucked out. Thank heavens!!!

End of the Year Updates

Oh the joys of having children. It has been a rough couple of weeks in our household. Both kids ended up with walking pneumonia, and Jaxon has double ear infections. He has been barfing a lot too, along with Abby. Neither children want to sleep, and it is only mommy that they want. Today was kinda funny. I handed Jaxon over to Bradly so I could help Abby, and he barfed all over daddy. The funny part was that Bradly of course had his mouth wide open and received a mouth full. YUCK!! Then later in the day, I was joking with Abby and said wouldn't it be funny if you barfed on daddy too. About a minute later, Abby turned her head ran over to daddy and barfed all over him. GROSS!!!! Needless to say my children are very entertaining, and it is never boring around here. It has been a great year. Although it has been rough for us, we are making the best out of it. Bradly has been laid off for the third time this year, and we are doing our best to find a new job and survive. We aren't complaining, because at least for the most part the kids are healthy and we are safe. We are grateful for the safe arrival of Jaxon on June 23rd, 2009. He came in the world with lung problems and landed himself in the NICU, but thankfully he is doing much better. Abby became a Big Sister with his arrival and takes very good care of him. Helps with baths, feeding, making him mad, picking on him, and just loving him tons. We are ever grateful for all those we know and love who are currently serving in the military. We thank-you for all the sacrifices you make for our family. The chance to grow up in a relatively free country, and to raise our children the way we see fit. Thank-you so much. Thank-you for leaving your families behind and fighting so far away. Thank-you for not giving up, and for all you do. We are also very grateful for all those who serve us: police, firemen, EMS, Doctors, etc. We are grateful for the knowledge of doctors, and the ability to help our children be healthy. We are grateful for the police who risk their lives everyday for us. Who protect us against crazy people, and the sign of the times. Thank-you for protecting our family and for trying to save this world. Each day we are reminded of the evil that surrounds us. With the violence and crime rates rising, we pray for our family and friends safety and well being. We pray for all who have lost their lives this year and their families. From murder, to children, to sickness, to fire, to violence. God bless and comfort your families. We want our friends and loved ones to know we wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and hope that you have a fabulous New Year. May the Lord protect and guide us all. May our goals for the future be met, and may we serve those around us daily, and show gratitude for what we have and who we love. God Bless all of you!!!!

Christmas Pictures

Okay so who knew how frustrating it would be to take photos. The funny thing I guess is that the one who caused me the pain is my three year old daughter not my five month old son. That seems to be a little bit backwards to me, but I can only do my best. So for now I have decided just to post the cute pictures of Jaxon, and if I get some of Abby and the entire family I will post them too. We will see only God can help us now. I am just going to post the five or so that turned out so you all can see how big our little guy is getting. It has been a fun year for us, and on December 23rd he will be 6 months old. Boy how time flies. Feels like he was just born yesterday. There have been a lot of ups and downs this year with three lay-offs and times kinda hard, but we are grateful for our health and for each other. God Bless and Happy Holidays!!!

Thanksgiving 2009

We are so grateful for this time of year and for families and loved ones. We spent this Thanksgiving with the Wiscombe clan: Grandpa Papa Brent, Grandma Robin, Uncle Brent, Uncle Brandon, Uncle Brian, Aunt Heidi, Cousin Carlee, Cousin Brylee, Uncle Bryce, Aunt Christena, Aunt Cassandra, Aunt McKayla, Bradly, Abby, Jaxon and myself. We all had a great time and are grateful to be in good health and to have family close by to spend time with. We want everyone to know how grateful we are for everyone who has touched our lives. We are very grateful to live in a country that is free, where we can choose what to do and how to live. We are grateful for all who have served, who serve, and who will serve to fight for our freedoms. We are grateful for life long friends, no matter where they are we love you. We are grateful for another safe year, and want all of you to know we send our love and gratitude and thankfulness your way. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

This is Abby's best friend Moroni Benjamin Arciniega (Moni). We have know Michelle Cottam Arciniega for many years, and we are grateful for all she has helped our family with and for the amazing friendship she offers us. When Michelle married Ben we got to add him to our friend list, and then when Moroni arrived right after Abby turned one, he became her best friend quickly. Abby loves to play with Moroni, and loves him like a brother. When she doesn't get to see him very often it makes her sad. So Abby's grandma sent us this picture of him, and she loves it. We are grateful at this time of year for all of our friends. For the love and kindness that has been shown to us, and all the great memories we have. Thanksgiving is the best time to remember that and to make plans to keep in touch better in the new year. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Wow how time flies. Jaxon is now five months old and moving on to baby food. He still hasn't developed a very good sleep schedule no matter what we try it just doesn't work. But the doctor says maybe putting him on food might help. I love baby stages, but I am truly praying that he picks up sleeping, because he is wearying me down. Abby was a great sleeper from the beginning so I never had to worry. She was happy too, but as they say every child is different and brings different challeges. Jaxon is learning to crawl, and we can't wait to show him snow. We are thankful for our little guy and hope that he continues to grow big and strong.

Bath Time

Jaxon and Abby love the bath. We have had to have tons of baths a day, because it seems to be the only thing that will calm Jaxon down. He is super colically, and drives me nuts sometimes. But thank the Lord above he gave us a bath to calm him in. The other night I put Abby and Jaxon together in the bath, and they had a splashing contest. Amazingly Jaxon won, he super splashed Abby in the eyes with his jet legs and she gave up. It is alot of fun to see them interact together, especially when it is nice. Although I still have to be a referee sometimes, but I guess nobody said life is perfect. What a bunch of cuties.

Our Halloween 2009

So this year has been a ton of fun for our family. Abby told us she needed to move on from the little baby costumes to the big teenage costumes and Jaxon just enjoyed his first Halloween. Abby was Ariel from the Little Mermaid this year, and Jaxon was our cute little Monkey. I am not a huge fan of Halloween, but I sure do enjoy dressing my kids up and decorating pumpkins and taking pictures. I guess you can say that this is truly a holiday for children. Each day we learn more and more about these two little ones. Abby told me (mom) today that I needed to go online and find her a prince Eric to marry. How can a 3 year-old know about online dating and meeting people? Boy if she is already starting now, I can't imagine what she will be like when she hits 16!!!!!!! And for sure it is WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY to soon for me to have to even be thinking of that. Jaxon is learning that he has a voice, and oh he is loud. Abby says she liked it better when all he did was sleep. The funny thing about that is he squeals the loudest when she is around, and especially when she does her crazy dance moves for him. In the video is Abby at the ward party trying to eat a donut on a string with no hands. She only lasted about 30 seconds and sat up. She said, "Mom this is dumb, if I use my hands it won't take so long. This isn't a fun game it's a waste of time." But yet walking around in a circle doing a cake walk is better? Oh to be a kid again. Happy Halloween to all our friends and family. Hope you had a great time and are safe at home in your bed with your parents hiding your candy!!!! :)

THE PUMPKIN PATCH

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch, and it was alot of fun. We have learned however that Jaxon is not a fan of the cold. He doesn't like to wear layers of clothes, use blankets, or wear hats. Jaxon inherited that from Dad. Mom and Abby love the cold and snow. I was trying to get him to look at the camera, but at least he smiled. After snapping a few pictures, it began to rain so we were out of there. Fall is a great time of year. Jaxon is now four months old, and growing big and strong. Abby is a great big sister, and of course is still our super model. We had to take tons of pictures of her, just so she would let us take a few of Jaxon. I am happy with the pictures. Our first family outing was to BYU, and we took pictures down at the waterfalls. It was a really hot day so the water felt great. Abby, Brad, and baby Jaxon.

Jaxon Dar Wiscombe was born June 23rd, 2009 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah. He was born at 9:36 am, weighed 7 lbs and 1 ounce and was 18 1/2 inches long. Jaxon was born having difficulty with his lungs, and was immediately sent to NICU. He is doing fine now.
